We have come a long way since the days of military campaigns that encouraged soldiers to 'Light up, its good for you'. We are all very aware of the inherent health risks of sparking up our favourite tobacco smoothie. But....I just could not resist sharing these amazingly enigmatic, whilst also shocking adverts from Marlboro (everybodys favourite). Every image here is from a genuine magazine or billboard advert circa 1955...They really did think that the dreaded death plant would make us cool, healthy, and ultimately more successful..but lets be honest, the guy in the frogsuit is possibly the coolest smoker I have EVER seen. Click each image, enlarge them and read the advert fully...enjoy.

If you know...then you know...
We have recently been spending some time thinking back to the roots of the culture that we love. So of course it was inevitable that the conversation kept steering back to the original skate and BMX brands of the late 1970's and early 80's. I was sat with a few friends yesterday and nearly every person who was engaged in the conversation mentioned the brand 'SMA', or Santa Monica Airlines, who's famous Natas deck graphics really set the standard for sub-culture sticker art when we were kids. Enjoy the images below folks...misty eyes at the ready...

Skin canvas - Graffiti goes flesh fetish
We have long been fans of street art that transcends the normal settings. We have always wanted to explore how the vivid and toxic paint schemes that would usually be seen on brick walls or train panels could work on the female form. Check out this latest find by our eagle-eyed art director. We WILL be taking to the flesh canvas very soon so please stay tuned for a very special graffiti skin art project shortly.
Dress like the undead
We really love this new T-shirt by the guys over at Design By Humans...it almost has an oldschool Santa Cruz skate feel about the colour scheme and the really nice artwork......grab one quick at Design By Humans
